There is a place on some far shore

Where death and misery are no more

Where love and beauty can be found

And hearts in unison are bound.

A place where hopes and dreams can end

In joyful union, souls may blend

And sing their praises, shout their love

And fear no injury from above.

On that shore, so far away

There are no tears to wipe away

There are no wounds, that do not mend

There are no knees, that do not bend

Toil and strife are left behind,

No one is deaf and no one is blind

There is no suffering of any measure

Faces reflect a new found pleasure

"It sounds like paradise," you say,

"It sounds like a place I'd like to stay."

"How can I get there, who do I see?"

"Are you sure about this?" "Is it too late for me."

"It must be expensive, but I can pay"

"I've gathered a lot here, in my day"

"Perhaps I could work, and earn my way there"

"Whatever it takes, what is the fare?"

The place exists and the cost is dear

But the fare has been paid and the way is clear.

A ticket was purchased for you, long ago

But you must claim it, if you want to go.

It may sound offensive but it's nonetheless true,

That I am a sinner and so are you.

But I am forgiven and ticket in hand,

I am assured of the promised land.

The One who bought the ticket for me,

Is the One who died on Calvary's tree.

Sufferred and died for me, and you

A price beyond measure yet, patently true.

"So, how do I get my ticket?" you ask

"Is it so simple, is there no task?"

The answer is simple, it's hardly a task

All you need do, is openly ask.

He did not die on Calvary, you see,

He arose and lives in people like me.

Waiting to hear a simple plea,

"I have sinned, I am sorry, please come and help me"

It all sounds so simple and child like tis true.

But that is the way it was planned for you.

Peace in this world is ever elusive,

But hope springs eternal, and is not exclusive.

All who would have it, all who believe

Can take comfort in knowing, the Saviour's reprieve.

There is a place on some far shore

Where death and misery are no more

Where love and beauty can be found

And hearts in unison are bound.
